God of the Month: Anna Perenna

The Ides (15th) of March is the beginning of traditional New Year for Romans. The Goddess of the Returning New Year, Anna Perenna is celebrated at this time. On this day, people would set-up small tents to hold their picnics in. They would dance and drink as well as make sacrifices for a prosperous year. One tradition of this day is to drink as many cups of wine for as many years that you want to live.
